Electrical Engineer for Research & Development – Underground Division

Your mission
A high focus area at Epiroc is development of intelligent machines with a high focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Currently we are expanding our efforts towards electrification and therefore need to strengthen our team within the area of electrical supply and power systems for our drill rigs. You will be working with developing cutting edge electrical technology involving electrical motors, drives and connecting system up to 1000V and will be in the forefront of transforming the business.
The main focus of the work will be to select and develop the components to the electrical power system including traction battery, electrical motors, drives, electrical cabinets, cabling and power control system. This means designing and updating component drawings and specifications, often in cooperation with our suppliers. You will also be a part of the complete power system design process together with the system engineers.
In this role you will be working in close vicinity to the factory which means that there are great opportunities to see the end result of the projects and also to test and evaluate different solutions on actual machines during the projects.
Location
You have the possibility to alternate working from your home within Sweden and from the office. The position location is Örebro, Sweden.

As a person you are innovative, willing to take responsibility and have the ability to work independently. Good collaboration skills are essential since work is performed in cross-functional teams. You have a structured and analytical approach where you combine theory and practice and the ability to deliver results according to the set goals. You should have a documented academic background within relevant area or other highly qualified engineering background. You should have good command of Swedish and English, verbal and written.
