Electrical Engineer Steering Gear
Within ART Deceleration & Steering we develop Brake- and Steering- systems for future car models and continuously improve our current models. We are now looking to outsource the responsibility to successfully implement and develop (together with the supplier) the electrical architecture for the steering gear in our next-generation vehicles.
This assignment will involve collaboration both with internal and external partners and will require high communication skills. A high technical interest in both HW and SW is required.
Lead Engineer (Electrical Hardware) - Deliverables and responsibilities
o Develop and continuously improve the quality of the electrical architecture for the steering system according to VCC procedures.
o Follow the technical/logical Plan for the competence area.
o Together with system architects and attribute team draw up specifications and requirements for the component and communicate them to potential suppliers with proper documentation.
o Work in close collaboration with
o Attribute leaders (safety, vehicle dynamics, etc.)
o Manufacturing
o EMC
o External Suppliers
o Etc.
o Define test plans and review test results
o Ensure the work is delivered as per specified acceptance criteria and definition
Lead Engineer (Electrical Hardware) - Competence Requirements – Experience and background
o ISO 16750 testing standards
o EMC
o Motor control system/ECU development
o PCB Schematics and layout
o PCB testing and design verification
o Worst case circuit analysis
o FMEA
o Engineering documentation (Requirements)
o Technical education, preferably a master’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering and at least 2 years experience in product development
o Project Management
o Supplier Management
o Fluent in English (written and spoken)
o Self-organizing
o Fully knowledgeable and able to work independently in Volvos Product Development Processes, Systems, and Tools and according to VCC's agile way of working
