The Center of Expertise function (CoE) consists of a highly engaged group of experts in real estate-related areas such as technical installations, fire security, facility management, sustainability, construction projects, workplace experience, and more. The VGRE CoE team has a global responsibility, identifying and realizing synergies for the Volvo Group's properties. We work in close partnership with property and facility managers all over the world, as well as with other stakeholders in Volvo Group. With an open mind for innovation, we keep up with the latest technology developments in Volvo and in our field.


Job description


We are now looking for a technical specialist in Electrical Engineering and High Voltage installations. You will be part of an ambitious group of people who are curious, committed, and customer-focused who believe that the key to success is working together towards clear targets, exchanging ideas, trusting each other, and having fun. You will work in and contribute to an area that is growing and continue to increase its importance.


In this position you will report to the VP Center of Expertise and be an active part of the CoE team.


Your main focus:


Your main focus areas will include support to our production sites in planning and in driving the development of the electrical infrastructure to secure the preparedness for needs related to electromobility. You will also support on property investment projects within this area of expertise, such as guiding projects from early stages through the full design process, securing the correct level of set targets based on our Building Standards and relevant legislation. Driving internal collaboration and transfer of knowledge on a global level will be an essential part of your job.


The work is to be conducted in very close cooperation with the Real Estate operational divisions, Group Corporate functions, colleagues within Truck Divisions and Business Areas, Group purchasing, and suppliers. Strategic planning is also included to secure a reliable transformation of our industrial sites to fulfill the requirements of a sustainable society – a very important aspect of the job.


Key responsibilities:
Support to our production sites in planning and driving the development of the electrical infrastructure to secure the preparedness for needs related to electromobility and climate mitigation/adaptation
Drive the development of the Volvo Building Standard within electrical installations
Support the projects to assure the correct level of set targets based on the Building Standards
Support our Divisions with Site assessments and maintenance planning of the electrical installations
Support on legislation & regulations within the Electrical Installations area where applicable
Drive the development of VGRE processes, guidelines, instructions, and tools within your area of responsibility
Communicate updates on standards, concepts, processes and tools within VGRE
Drive global forums for transfer of knowledge, training, best practice sharing and feedback. Secure alignment overall within Volvo Group Real Estate within the Electrical Installations area
Participate in corporate & cross-functional forums, and relevant external networks for news, trends, benchmarking & best practices

Who are you?


To add value in this position you need the ability to demonstrate a clear vision. You have a global mindset and broad experience within industrial Real Estate, and high competence in Electrical engineering and installations. You have knowledge of supplier market mechanisms, environmental aspects, and relevant regulations within this area of expertise. Since we work in a global environment it is important to be comfortable in communication in English both in written and orally. You are used to leading people within global forums and enjoy building business relationships. You are well structured and have an analytical approach and a strategic perspective in your daily work. We are having fun at work, and since you are a good team player you bring value also to this perspective.


Knowledge/experience:
Master of Science Degree within the area of Electrical engineering or similar
7 years of experience from working with electrical engineering such as design, installation and commissioning of electrical networks, or maintenance and operation of industrial sites
Experience from property assessments and inspections for the planning of long-term maintenance and new investments
Analytical skills to assess and evaluate various technical solutions
Knowledge of relevant steering documents within the area of expertise
Knowledge of impact on environmental aspects within area of expertise
Experience from working in a multi-cultural environment
