VACANCY
The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, and founded by France, Germany and the United Kingdom, is Europe's leading research facility for fundamental research using neutrons. The ILL operates the brightest neutron source in the world. The Reactor Division, whose role is to produce the neutrons needed to supply the ILL's scientific instruments, is responsible for operating all the technical installations associated with the reactor. We currently have a vacancy for an:
Electrical / Instrumentation CAD Technician
Duties:
Working in the Design Office of the Reactor Division's "Electricity and Electronics Service" (SEE), which is responsible for the maintenance of the high-flux reactor's electrical distribution, I/C and automation systems, you will take charge of the management of all the SEE's electrical drawings. You will work in close collaboration with the other technicians and engineers in the SEE. Your main duties will be to:
- Produce and modify electrical drawings using CAD software
- Update drawings and the list of wires and cables affected by modifications
- Check drawings produced by suppliers
- Enter equipment in the CMMS for the management of spare parts
- Perform design studies on modifications to electrical installations.
Qualifications and experience:
- You have a Level 5 (HND, foundation degree or equivalent) or Level 6 (apprenticeship degree or equivalent) qualification in electrical engineering.
- You have some initial design office experience with the design of electrical installations and the production of drawings.
- You are proficient in the use of SEE Electrical Expert.
- You are interested in working in an integrated quality management system (IMS).
- You have a methodical and meticulous approach to your work, a strong service-oriented attitude and are able to work independently or as part of a team while complying with regulatory requirements.
Language skills:
As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. You must have a sound knowledge of English and be willing to learn French (a language course will be paid for by the ILL). Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
