Electrical System Engineer

The Group Electrical Design is part of the section Electrical System Architecture. The group's responsibility is among others to develop the electrical distribution system with mechanisms that balance/limits electrical power consumption and the distribution aspects of communication properties for each electrical component and system in all conditions where the car are used. Personal safety in Hybrid vehicles as well as protecting the electrical distributions system against abnormal use or errors in the system is other areas of our responsibility.
As Electrical System Engineer you will together with your colleges be responsible for developing the electrical design solution in the car. This means that you will define solutions based on the electrical architecture mechanisms in a fully distributed electrical system as well as received legal/attribute/customer function, system and component requirements. You will be a part of every system solution in the electrical system and design how all components are connected to each other with restrictions and requirements concerning wire harness and distribution centrals design. You will participate in the overall requirement balancing process to handle conflicts with other requirements and you will act towards other electrical engineers/designers to ensure full understanding of the solution. You will also work in close collaboration with the test group to ensure that requirements are testable and that the solutions work as intended.
Main responsibilities
* Develop and document system and component solutions for defined car program
* Define and cascade system and component requirements to affected PSS's
* Support implementation in subsystem solutions
* Secure electrical design system functionality during all use cases of the vehicle. Verify system requirement fulfilment
* Actively participate in solving issues raised during car programs
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or corresponding competence gained by experience
* Experience in Electrical System Development
* Experience in Electrical Distribution System Development
* Ability to assess different technical solutions
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* Experience of Matlab/Simulink and Saber is meritorious
