We are looking for an Electronic Component Sourcing Engineer who wants to be part of our journey towards becoming the world leader delivering the best performing and safest energy storage solutions on the market.

We are now further expanding our Sourcing team team and looking for an experienced Component Sourcing Engineer.

To succeed at Polarium, a multicultural company with high growth targets, you need to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

You will be a key player in our sourcing team and also in close collaboration with our technical teams. Your focus will be on component sourcing to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. In the role you will be responsible for providing component engineering knowledge and services to strategic sourcing team being in closed interaction with R&D as well as our suppliers.

The position is based at Polarium HQ in Kista. Business trips will occur, sometimes on short notice, both international and within Sweden.

Responsibilities:

- Act as technical/component sourcing interface between suppliers, internal R&D and technical teams.
- Identify long LT critical components and develop process internally and in coordination with EMS to secure supply.
- Keep updated of the component market, cost development and EOL.
- Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and securing supply.
- Work closely with R&D inn sourcing providing guidance in selection of electronic components for new projects as well as during the full product life cycle.
- Review and provide advice on Electronic Component End of Life (EOL), availability, lead-time, and obsolescence.
- Manage and resolve parts obsolescence in collaboration with internal and external parties.
- Investigates alternate components to reduce costs and/or to maintain operational efficiencies and supply.
- Keep market knowledge and supplier changes.
- Familiar with a broad spectrum of electronic components
- Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability.
- Evaluates supplier change notification and related business impact.
- Interfaces with EMS suppliers continuously monitor, secure and develop component lifecycle roadmaps including proactive supplier market knowledge and updates to secure short- and long-term supply.
- Engagement in development phase as well as the full life cycle to continuously improve processes, quality and decrease costs, review BOM cost analyses on component level etc.
- Ability to articulate detailed technical information, both written and orally to internal stakeholders.
- Experiences and skills to identify resolutions of components problems and coordinate cross-functional in a creative and effective way.




Who are you?

We are looking for a highly driven, detail oriented, and an analytical self-starter, who like to work ad-hoc as well as in projects. You are a structured team player, with a "can do" attitude with ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced technically dynamic environment. You have a minimum of 5 years’ solid experience from similar position in international environments and we believe you have knowledge from agile development and enjoy fast growing entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifications and experience:

- 3-5 years experience in electronic component engineering, including guiding component selection, developing obsolescence mitigation plans.


- 3-5 years experience interfacing with key manufacturers and suppliers of electronic components.

- Expert skills and experience reading engineering drawings and component datasheets.
- Proficient with the MS Office suite; specific competence with data analysis in Excel.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- Swedish work permit
