Motion & Energy at CEVT is responsible development of new global electrified powertrains from the early concept phase to industrialization. We are now looking for an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join our team! Our organization plays an important role since these systems will continue to be the main technologies for the Geely group going forward. CEVT is an important innovation center in the Geely Group, which brings a great opportunity to contribute to innovating new technology for future powertrains to be used across brands in the Geely Group.
The role
As Electronic Hardware Design Engineer you are responsible for the development, integration and testing of electronic control units used in automotive control systems. The pace is high, and the work is within all development steps from idea creation, requirements definition, implementation, verification and finally serial production.
This is what you will do most of the time:
- Deliver all technical aspects of hardware schematic capture and PCB board layout.
- Establish statement of work for contract manufacturers for prototypes and production support, while maintaining excellent working relationships with key suppliers.
- Review all technical aspects of supplier’s electronic hardware design.
- Execute and/or follow-up validation test plans (DV/PV, electromagnetic interference/compatibility, environmental, thermal, and mechanical testing)
- Execute, lead and/or follow-up Failure Mode Avoidance (including all aspects of FMEA process) to ensure the quality of the hardware design
- Execute, lead and/or follow-up functional safety-related work based on ISO26262
- Collaborate with the power train BSW and ASW teams to support hardware bring-up and testing
- Establish a forward-looking hardware roadmap with reusability in mind.
- Lead project planning, status reporting, team engagement, project risk visualization and mitigation plan for the hardware design

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Master of Science or Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering
- 5+ years of Electronic hardware design experience
- 2+ years of automotive hardware design experience
- Technical understanding of Automotive ECUs and System On Chip, SoC.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in automotive hardware platforms, NXP, Infineon, Renesas etc.
- Experience with Altium Designer, Orcad/Cadence schematic capture and PCB layout or similar tools.
- Experience with Automotive serial bus communication HW; CAN, LIN, UART, Ethernet, USB, etc.
- Experience of DC/DC converter designs
- Capable of bringing up a design from first reset.
- Experience of proper electronic design from EMC point of view.
- Experience of FMEA, FMEDA, Worst Case Analysis
- Experience of functional safety related work for electronic hardware design, ISO26262
- Experience of C/C++ development and debugging of embedded systems.
