Arbetsbeskrivning
Do you want to contribute to a digital sustainable transformation of business and society? Do you have a passion for electronics and sensors? Do you have industry experience and a solid competence in electronics design and sensor systems? Are you a social person skilled at establishing and nurturing customers relations?
If you are a good listener, can think strategically and act operationally by identifying customers’ needs and contributing with new insights to solve them, then you might be the person we are looking for!
About us
To work within RISE Sensor Systems means to get the opportunity to address industrial and societal challenges through the development of innovative sensor solutions.
Thanks to the broad applicability of sensor systems, we work across several different business and innovation areas. For instance, we have designed and developed multimodal sensor systems integrated in a garment. With our in-house developed advanced signal processing and machine learning algorithms this garment can be used for applications such as medical diagnostics to improve treatment of patients suffering from Parkinson's disease and epilepsy. In a different project we are working on low-energy electronics for use in sensor applications powered by thermal energy harvesting.
About the role
As a research and development engineer, your main tasks will be to design analog and digital electronics. Typically, you will work closely with sensor researchers, electronics engineers, signal processing experts and application experts. As part of the development team you will decide the suitable complexity of the solution and subsequently implement it into a suitable hardware platform. You will participate in publicly financed projects as well as assignments from customers. You are expected to contribute to projects in close collaboration with industrial and academic partners. You will be responsible for coordinating and, in some cases, leading moderately complex projects. You might also contribute with technical information and engineering recommendations in various projects. You will also be expected to create new collaborations and business opportunities with companies. You will therefore build up a broad network within RISE and externally with the industry.
Who are you?
You have a strong interest in sensors and hardware design. You hold at least a Master of Science in a relevant field and five years’ experience from the industry. You are customer oriented and skilled at turning customer needs into value through great innovations. Your familiarity with hardware and software design tools is expected as well as practical experience of different embedded software programming languages. Knowledge of Altium Designer and test software is a merit. Experience with project management is a merit. You enjoy working in dynamic teams, where the members are multidisciplinary and can divide your time between short-term and long-term projects. You are well organized, self-motivated and strive for excellence in every task. You have excellent communication and presentation skills. Well written and spoken English is required. Fluency in Swedish is considered a merit.
Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for our industry and research globally. RISE can give you the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to one of Europe’s leading Research Institutes and Innovation Partner.
We look forward to your application!
