Our Global R&D team works on a diverse range of products and technology including intelligent camera systems, battery sipping security sensors, advanced access control solutions and bespoke user interface devices.

About the role
Based in Malmö, you will be part of the team with main offices located in Malmö and Madrid. Your main responsibility will be within the modem area and you will develop and maintain modem connectivity solutions on past, current, and future gateways.

Your deliverables will be a vital part of the whole Verisure ecosystem in both European and LATAM markets. You will also represent Verisure in vendor and partner meetings to make sure the different projects are moving progressing in a timely manner.

The Group Base team is responsible for the base software of the gateway, including the Linux OS, DevOps, modem, WIFI and radio technology. 

About the candidate profile – what you bring
We are looking for Embedded Linux Senior Software Engineer with emphasis in the modem area to join our team. You have experience with modem proxy interfaces such as oFono or Android RIL and have an understanding of cellular network signalling. If you have been exposed to Cellular Network instruments, that´s even better!

The successful candidate has outstanding communication skills and the ability to clearly convey the scopes of the problems by identifying key issues and provide input to stakeholders.

You are solution-oriented problem solver with outstanding analytical skills and enjoy working in an environment with quickly changing requirements but with a long-term vision.

Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Proven professional experience in working with cellular modems, supporting 2G, 3G, 4G technologies
* Knowledgeable in AT commands interface to modem
* Hands-on experience with modem integration frameworks such as Android RIL and oFono
* Excellent in modem log analysis & debugging and solving the issues found
* Advanced to expert level in C programming language and in Linux systems
* Experienced in using software configuration management systems like Git, Gerrit, Bitbucket and incident tracking tools like Jira
* Excellent technical communication skills, both written and oral
* Proficient English skills
