Role description!
We are looking for an embedded software DevOps & QA engineer with strong experience working with Yocto-based embedded Linux CI/CD pipelines to join our team.
In this role you will work as part of a team developing those highly efficient and optimized embedded Linux distributions at the heart of some of Ericsson’s most advanced telecommunications products. You will use your deep knowledge CI/CD, QA tools and processes, security and vulnerability analysis & remediation, and code provenance and SBOM generation to ensure delivery of reliable, and secure Linux platforms demonstrated across a range of Ericsson product teams.
As an EST representative open source developer a focus is placed on high emotional competence and communication skills. We will value the right attitude and mentality in a candidate who wants to explore new technologies and development activities in a fast paced and demanding role.

You will:
Setup and support Yocto-based CI/CD build pipelines for a portfolio of custom Linux distributions
Define, develop, and implement embedded Linux test environments on reference hardware and/or simulators or emulators.
Define, develop, and implement QA processes using static analysis tools, vulnerability, and CVE monitoring, etc.
Support other members of the Embedded Linux team who use the CI/CD environment
Monitor and incorporate the latest advancements in embedded Linux build & test environment
Continually drive to improve the speed, agility, and integrity of our embedded Linux build and test environment
To be successful in the role you must have
B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
Strong experience building and/or managing a Yocto-based CI/CD environment for embedded Linux
Strong experience creating functional, and end to end integration tests to ensure reliable, secure operation of the embedded Linux platforms developed
Maintain and troubleshoot integration of the CI/CD environment with downstream software, tooling, and processes within Ericsson
Awareness of relevant open source community norms, behaviors, and activities; such as Linux kernel developers, Yocto, Continuous Delivery Foundation, Open Source Security Foundation, and similar communities
Competency Profile
The candidate needs to demonstrate a strong experience and expertise in Yocto based CI/CD environments with an emphasis on QA of new hardware and pro-active security for the platform. The candidate will also possess very strong communications skills and have a can-do attitude associated with achievement in a resource constrained environment with a business and service mind set.

Experience as an Ericsson product developer including familiarity with methodology and processes
