Who are we and what do we do
We are the Electric Propulsion Control group, a part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology’s Electromobility organization. We are a diverse team of highly skilled professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds, who share a passion for technology and developing products that make a difference for the Volvo Group’s customers and society as a whole.
Our role is to provide world class solutions for complete electric propulsion system or subsystem, to the Volvo Group’s business units including buses, trucks, construction equipment and marine applications. As such, we play an integral role in helping the Volvo Group meet its ambitions to drive prosperity and sustainability by delivering emissions-free transport solutions.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a degree in Electronics, Data science, Software engineering, Mechatronics or similar. You must have 4-6 years’ experience with embedded software design and development, and 4-6 years’ experience from embedded system design and development. Documented experience from working in an agile development environment and working with functional safety in automotive products and applications, is also essential.

Being able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, and among people from a diverse range of roles and positions.
Being able to plans and align, who can focus on the highest priorities, set schedules and steps for achieving objectives, looks for obstacles and develops contingency plans, and can diligently track and manage work progress.
Technical leadership.
Result oriented, and willing to challenge the current norms.
Fluent in English – both verbal and written.

Essential skills and knowledge:
You must have knowledge and experience from:
Software engineering and function development in an embedded system
Extensive experience from electrical propulsion system management in high voltage (600 - 1000 V) vehicle applications
ISO-26262/Function safety standard for automotive products and applications
Automated test framework for software and functional testing
