About the role
Ready to pioneer new sustainable transport solutions using software?
Perfect! As an embedded software developer, you will join our Cab Climate Software team within Thermal Management – a Technology Stream within Volvo Group Trucks Technology responsible for developing optimized cab climate and all vehicle cooling- and heating systems. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop software used for all technologies such as Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Fuel Cells (FCs) for all Trucks brands in the Volvo group. We are also in the Volvo Group now embarking on a journey to modernize our electrical system architecture which is also a major technology shift. Our team is rapidly expanding, and we are looking for an experienced developer to join us.
Highlighted responsibilities:
We work with software that is the link between the Thermal Management control algorithm and the different hardware components involved to make the system work in the trucks.
Specify, implement, and validate the base Input/Output software for thermal management
Perform troubleshooting in rigs or vehicles
Suggest and implement improvements in the software development process/environment.
Suggest and implement Proof of Concepts for new innovations

We need you to engage in making us better all the time, to have a strong willingness to grow and learn new things and not be afraid to challenge how things have been done in the past.
We are looking for applicants with knowledge and experience in at least some of the following areas:
M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in embedded software development, preferably from the automotive industry or other relevant areas.
Good knowledge in software programming languages like C/C++ and Python programming
Knowledge of CAN protocol, CANalyzer and CANoe.
Knowledge of AUTOSAR and Vector toolchain (DaVinci Developer, DaVinci Configurator)

Experienced in working with continuous integration environment using Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, and Artifactory.
