As an Embedded Software Engineer at ESAB, you will be responsible for the development of software features for our welding systems. You will work in a cross-functional team with close co-operation to the hardware team and to the development welders.
Responsibilities
As an Embedded Software Engineer you will participate in the entire process from receiving and breaking down product and system requirements to the final testing and verification of the software. Together with the team you will implement high quality software for welding systems, from requirements to production release. Together with your team you will take an active part in panning activities for upcoming features to support the team commitment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, implement, and verity software functionality
Support all test activities from team responsibilities to system level test activities
Analyze and implement platform functionality and solve quality problems
Design ownership of cross-functional features in a welding system
Contribute to improving efficiency, stability and scalability of software
Close co-operation with infrastructure team to create an efficient software flow
Your profile
To be successful as an Embedded Software Engineer with us you are a self-motivated person used to collaborating with team members as well as other stakeholders. You have an M.Sc. or B.Sc. in relevant area and experience of working as a software developer. You are a curious person with a drive to explore and understand and combine newfound knowledge with your previous experiences to improve our products.
You are a structured person with the ability to prioritize. You take responsibility to deliver result and work proactively. You are used to working in an Agile way and enjoy contributing to improvements that serves your own work as well the team.
You have a solid background in working with C++ and embedded systems
Good understanding of network communication, preferably TCP/IP
Experienced in software design
Experienced in working with distributed version control systems e.g. GitLab
It is an advantage if you have experience from product companies with in-house production and understands the process of releasing and maintaining software for production and aftermarket.
We also value if you have knowledge in Matlab, SystemWeaver, electronics and communication protocols such as e.g. LIN.
You are fluent in English in spoken and written form.
