Embedded SW application engineer – combustion engine control
Do you want to be a part of creating the next generation of combustion control strategies for Volvo Group? Do you want to reduce the environmental impact from the transport industry? Would you like to work in great teams with competent and helpful colleagues?
What do we do?
Combustion system control group is responsible for developing control strategies and embedded SW for engine related functions (e.g. fuel injection, air loop, cooling, lubrication) for heavy duty engines for the Volvo Group.
We have many interesting challenges in front of us. We will develop control strategies and embedded SW solutions to drastically lower the emissions and fuel consumption from our future combustion engines. New functionality is needed to support the transfer from diesel engines to fossil free fuel like hydrogen and biodiesel.
We work according to agile principles with autonomous scrum teams, taking full responsibility for their deliverables. The teams work with development of system solutions, software design, implementation and verification of complete functions. Verification is performed in SIL, HIL as well as on engine or in vehicles. We are responsible for the entire development chain from early project phases to maintenance.
We work in a global organisation in close cooperation with agile teams on other sites (Lyon (France), Curitiba (Brazil)) and with calibration teams globally.
What will you do?
You will be part of a cross functional team of about 5 engineers. Together with your team you will be involved in system design, control and strategy development, implementation and verification.
You will analyze data, specify and design SW strategies and implement and verify SW.
We use model-based design strategies and the development tools we use are mainly Matlab, Simulink and Targetlink.
Who are you?
You have a master’s degree in mechatronics area or similar, and previous experience from the automotive industry or embedded software development with great attitude and a willingness to learn. You are innovative and creative and like to share knowledge with colleagues.
What can we offer you?
We offer a great place to grow within an exciting and global working environment.
We recognize the importance of valuing diversity as a key to our current and future business success. You will get the opportunity to interact with highly committed colleagues from different cultures. Trust, passion, performance, change and customer success are key values for us. We hope you will learn as much from us as we will from you.
