Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.Embedded software designer - HIL
Are you interested in developing your career into embedded software design?
In our team, we bring new ideas to the table all the time and truly support each other in that process. We encourage each other in being innovative and are curious to know more about your ideas. So if you would like to join a team where we really work together in a creative process, please read below and give me a call.
We are looking for the next embedded system design engineer star to join us. Let’s do this together.
Our team works with all embedded systems for the complete vehicle. This gives you the possibility to work with the latest technology for example for electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles. Cool, right? We collaborate with the owners of the different embedded systems which will give you a broad network within Scania and also the possibility to learn about the details.
Who we are
The group "Hardware Test Platform", is responsible for the design and build of the hardware in the HIL (Hardware in the Loop) test platform. The HIL platform is used to perform integration tests of the complete vehicle’s electrical system. Our new concept FlexHIL is scalable for many test levels. This means that the same hardware that was designed to the complete vehicle testing could be used as well for single ECU testing.
Since we support integration of all systems in the vehicle, this position offers a unique overview and insight in all development within embedded systems at Scania.
The group consists of seventeen awesome team members and an additional group of consultants formed by eight people.
Who we would like you to be
If you want to work in a group of people with joint tasks truly together with other teammates, you are the right person.
The role I’m looking to fill is focusing on the software design part and as this is embedded, I want you to have knowledge about embedded hardware too and through that be able to read hardware schematics. We want you to be able to program in embedded C and have experience in programming 32-bits microcontrollers. As we work with communications protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, SPI and UART, I would like you to have knowledge in that.
Finally I’m looking for you that have experience in configuring and interfacing peripheral devices such as ADCs, DACs and transceivers.
If you also know about Arm® Cortex®-M7, HW close programming (e.g. FPGA - VHDL) and are able to program in C++ or another object-oriented programming language with UI design skills, I’m really interested in knowing more about you. Another merit would be if you know about embedded hardware design or if you have previous experience working with version control tools such as Git or Perforce
Our group consists of university degree employees from computer science, data and mechatronics engineering and I would like you to have a similar education. You should also have a strong interest in embedded electronics engineering that you have either acquired through studies or own projects.
The team members are self-going, outgoing, service-minded, thorough, solution-oriented and also very team oriented. We communicate in English, so you need to be good at that.
Working in a similar role within a company in the automotive industry would be a huge plus.
Who am I as a manager
I have a background in hardware development myself and am really passionate about this embedded system development here at Scania. I work closely with all team members in our lab and our daily work and am interested in how we develop the next innovative solution for Scania. I spend a lot of time ensuring that our employees develop themselves and have at least two one-to-one’s per month with each team member.
