About us
As part of our mission to enable the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable, and safe way we are now launching our first Battery Electric Vehicle, the XC40 P8 Recharge. It is powered by an in-house designed battery developed by our great battery team in Gothenburg. To follow this, we are now working on a new electric vehicle platform and several exiting products that all will be powered by Batteries designed and developed in-house. With these new products Volvo Cars aims to be leading in electrification and, in 2025, every 2nd Volvo sold shall be a battery electric vehicle. To deliver on this aim we will deepen our involvement in all aspects of battery development.
What you will do
Plan, order, prepare and analyze development and verification tests on high-voltage propulsion battery packs. The work is done in close collaboration with the system designer, component owners and the test operators in the test rigs. The rigs can be either at Volvo’s internal battery lab or at external suppliers. Specifically, the job will involve EMC (electro-magnetic combability) and fault tracing. Some travelling to external test sites for support and fault tracing will occur.
You and your skills
You are a team player with strong communications skills and a genuine interest in technology. You can work independently and take required actions on own initiative. You are a fast learner with an analytical and solution-based mindset.
Your technical competence, as well as your ability to manage complexity in systems and collaboration with different teams should be strong so that you can make your own decisions and technical conclusions.
Requirements:
* M.Sc or Ph.D in Engineering, Electrical or Physics
* Experience from development work of the EMC property
* Good knowledge of standards and test methods related to EMC
* Experience from Automotive OEM:s or similar development area
Nice to have:
* Hybrid- and/or electric propulsion development
* Test development and equipment
