End User Function Owner - Traction Voltage System Management
Are you ready to take a leading role in reshaping the future of sustainable transportation? Do you want to use your Embedded System Engineering skills to develop real tangible solutions that will change the way we live and work? If so, apply today.
The position
As End User Function Owner, you have overall responsibility for all functions of Traction Voltage System Management in the Volvo Group’s electric driveline for trucks. You will have to work across the entire vehicle and understand how the traction voltage system interacts with and impacts other components and systems. As owner, you have the final say and full responsibility for the functionality of the system.
Who are we and what do we do
Electro Propulsion is a department within Volvo Group Trucks Technology, which is responsible for developing the electric driveline. The driveline and its components are supplied to all of the Volvo Group’s brands and used in trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine and industrial applications, although in this role you will predominately be working with trucks. We are a global team who are all passionate about technology and changing the world.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a Master of Science in Electronics, Data science, Software engineering, Mechatronics or similar. Ideally you have 6-8 years’ experience working with embedded software design and development or embedded system design and development. Experience in End User Function ownership, where you have defined requirements on a high level down to requirement allocation on ECU level, is also required.
It is an advantage to have documented experience working in an agile development environment, from working with functional safety in automotive products and applications, and experience from using SE-Tools for requirement definition and allocation. Extended experience with propulsion systems in battery electric vehicles and experience from traction voltage systems/components is also valued.
As a person, you should be a good communicator, be effective at planning and prioritising tasks, have solid technical leadership, be results oriented and willing to challenge the current norms, and be fluent in both written and verbal English.
You can take decisions, engage and inspire, have confidence in your abilities to influence outcomes, are structured and creative, and passionate about networking across functions to achieve shared objectives.
What we can offer
The role entails taking on a huge level of responsibility in one of the most important transitions in the Volvo Group’s history – the shift to electromobility. This is an opportunity to work across the entire vehicle – not just the propulsion system – and gain a unique understanding of how it works. You will be given the responsibility and freedom to develop the traction voltage system functionality based on your own knowledge.
As a large, global company, we can also offer multiple career paths for further growth and development. We manufacturer a wide portfolio of products that cover many applications and industries. As an End User Function Owner, you will gain unique insights into how our products operate and can build on this knowledge and experience to develop within a number of different roles in the future.
