Scania is now transforming from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
We are now in the starting blocks for taking our already world-leading engine platform to the next level to further reduce the transport sector's environmental impact.
Our team is responsible for several functions in the engine control unit, ranging from engine and combustion optimization, sustainable emission strategies, starter motor control, and engine speed control. We are committed to Scania's ambitious goals of reducing environmental and climate impact. The team is also developing functionality for our fellow TRATON group members, MAN in Germany and Navistar in the USA.
Job description
As a development engineer in our team, you will be part of all steps in the development process. You will also get the chance to work on both pre-development projects as well as you will investigate and solve problems found in the current production software. Some of the tasks that you will be assigned are:
• Developing new software functionality in our engine management system.
• Testing your functionality in different environments, for example in a simulation environment, testbed, or in a truck.
• Continuous discussions and cooperation with colleagues all around Scania and Traton.
Your profile
We believe that you have a master of science or higher education in mechatronics, computer science, automotive or similar. We also think:
• That you are an analytical person that like solving problems.
• You are a team player that enjoys working with other people in the group but also around the whole of R&D.
• You are adaptable and enjoy working with both ongoing customizations and also in large future projects.
Knowledges that are meritorious:
• Experience in C-programming or similar programming languages.
• Experience in combustion engine physics or powertrain development.
• Knowledge in Matlab/Simulink.
We offer
Our team is responsible for a wide area of functionality for Scania's engines, offering many possible focus areas. The team consists of ten engineers who continuously work together within the group and together with other parts of Scania R&D and also with the Traton organization. We also occasionally perform test expeditions in trucks in the northern parts of Sweden and Spain. We support our employees in getting C and CE driver’s licenses.
