We are looking for an Engine Performance & Verification engineer, to be part of the Sourced Power Systems team, a department within Sustainable Power Systems organization.
With a product lifecycle mind-set, you will be a key person for future development and maintenance of Sourced engines in the 4L to 8L engine range. Supporting the transformation of our products towards lower emissions and lower carbon footprint will be an important area.

Work / Role description Performance and Verification engineer.
We are in a transition phase into new sustainable technologies where the combustion engine will be a key part of reducing the carbon footprint of our machines. In this role you will get the opportunity to act, learn and grow and it will give you the chance to interact and collaborate with fantastic colleagues from all around the world.
Your main responsibility will be to develop and verify sourced engine systems in terms of performance and system functionality. You will be part of the work through the complete design phase, from start to product maintenance. You will be a key player in our development projects and maintenance projects working closely with our main engine supplier as well as our machine platforms.
Activities that could be included in the role:
Define system requirements and support the machine integration.
Optimize engine & aftertreatment systems in terms of performance, diagnostics & quality
Define requirements on new engine software functions.
Define product improvements on hardware components.
Define verification and validation plans and leading the test activities to secure the quality of our machines.
Plan and follow up field tests, expeditions, or other machine testing.
Support the product maintenance work to analyze field data, field claims and to introduce improvements or corrective actions.
Within the department you will contribute to the long-term Power roadmap and identify improvement areas as well as competence needs.
Who Are You?
You are a true team player who also can work individually and represent the team. You have an ambition and strong interest to develop solutions for future needs and product improvements. You are a solution-oriented person with the ability to see the bigger picture. You want to be part of the cross-functional engineering team to develop our engines to support the needs for our machines. You have experience from engine or machine development, you enjoy communication and collaboration, and you have a strong interest to find solutions. What you don’t know today, you are eager and willing to learn.
To be successful in this role you need strong knowledge in engine development or similar knowledge. Since we work together in a global environment you need to be fluent in English. If you also speak Swedish and/or German that is an advantage but not a necessity. To have good communication skills and enjoy collaborating together with other persons and functions is also key to being successful as an Engine Performance & Verification engineer at Volvo Construction Equipment.
Good To Have
A devoted engineer, M.Sc or B.Sc, with more than 5 years of experience in related area. You are used to working as a part of a team, responsible for yours and your projects team deliveries.
