About the position
We are looking for an Engineer to drive application development forward for surface coatings related to New Technologies in the Product Area "Surface and Joining Technologies/SJT". Focus is on Cold Gas Spraying (CGS) and Atmospheric Plasma Spraying (APS) including Suspension Spraying (SPS).
In this position you identify new applications, future technology trends, and portfolio gaps. Additionally you initiate and lead development projects. You support customers and sales in technical questions regarding applications, processes and material selection. Presenting our portfolio, new materials, and coating solutions to customers at technical meetings, conferences and exhibitions are other important tasks in this role.
In this position you will work in international teams, and act as the technical interface between both our customers and prospects, as well as internal departments at Höganäs such as Product Development, Marketing, Business Development and Operations.
The position will be placed at one of Höganäs’ locations in either Sweden or Germany, pending on the candidate’s location. In addition, this position requires frequent travels, both national and international.
Your profile
We are looking for you that have good knowledge in ceramic materials and coatings, as well as the related applications to enable new developments in this field. In addition, an understanding of coating and material characterization methods is required. A Master of Science or equivalent in mechanical engineering or material science is mandatory.
This position requires project management skills and a strong general technical background. Good problem-solving capabilities are also considered valuable skills in the position.
You are an innovative and result-oriented team player, well organized, and like to drive technical approaches towards key customers and present new solutions. And you have the right communication skills to be the interface between our customers and prospects and the relevant internal stakeholders.

You are fluent in English, and preferably also in German and/or additional languages.
