You will be part of the Switching and Systems team at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås, Sweden. At Corporate Research we lead the innovation within ABB and our task is to ensure ABB's technology competitiveness now and in the future. We work in close collaboration with other research centers, universities and our business areas Electrification, Process Automation, Motion and Robotics & Discrete Automation.
In our creative and highly skilled team we develop, design, build and test new concepts and prototypes in the area of low and medium voltage switching apparatus, such as contactors, breakers, fault current limiters and other protection devices.
In the role of Test Engineer, you will be working with and driving the execution of High-Power testing. Our experimental and testing facilities serve both our accredited testing and R&D projects.
To be successful in this role you should have a positive and structured mindset, a solid technical background and great interest in utilizing our highly advanced experimental facilities.

This position reports to R&D Team Manager.
Your responsibilities
Offer, plan and execute accredited High-Power testing
Maintain our electrical installations and test facilities
Calculate, design and build test circuits and test setups
Plan, execute and evaluate measurements and data acquisition
Interact with and support R&D projects with planning and execution of verification testing
Develop our experimental facilities to meet future expectations
Prepare, report and present results to our stakeholders

Your background
Preferably Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor’s degree with several years of electrical testing experience
Good knowledge in electrical testing and test equipment for low and medium voltage apparatus
Knowledge in operation and maintenance of electrical installations
Experienced in electrical measurements and data acquisition
Previous experience in accredited testing is a benefit
Fluent in Swedish and basic knowledge in English, written and spoken alike
Good collaboration capabilities in a technical team and laboratory environment
Strong team spirit and individual leadership to deliver expected results on time, on budget and with high quality
