Job Summary
Are you interested to join our team at GKN to create the Digital Factory of the Future together with our team at the Global Technology Center (GTC) in Trollhättan?
Driven by the vision of sustainable aerospace innovation, GKN Aerospace develop new design concepts for lower weight and integrated functionality for future aviation. The Global Technology Center develops the next generation designs, materials, manufacturing methods and digital factory solutions for GKN Engines. Do you want to be a part of that team?
The Global Technology Center (GTC) in Trollhättan are looking for a Data Science Engineer with deep interest in developing and building our Digital Factory of the Future. You will work within the field Computer Science & Automation, The work is performed in our digital projects were you work with AI development for design and process digital twin solutions with AI support. You like to do hands on programming and interact with hardware.
You have a desire for both programming and practical work with IoT and interacting with robots and other equipment. Working with technology development will require a self-driven character and that you take ownership to progress your tasks in programs as well as efficiently interacting with team members.
We are located at GKN site in Trollhättan and we have our manufacturing laboratory at Innovatum in Trollhättan city, where you will be located.
Job Responsibilities
The primary role is to work in programs and to develop and maintain the next generation digital solutions for key design and manufacturing processes at our Global Technology Center.

Typical responsibilities:

You are a skilled Data Science Engineer that can help us build our IT solutions and Machine Learning Processes for our processes. The machines include CNC machines, AM Robots, AM Powder bed Machines, CT scanners and much more. You will work with developing programs and AI applications for all kinds of numerical data and image data from design and manufacturing processes at our Global Technology Center in Trollhättan. The key application areas are programming, analysis and Machine Learning applications for new Additive Manufacturing applications and digital inspection.
The work is performed jointly with your team colleagues, through internal technology development projects and in research projects often done in bilateral or multilateral collaboration with our GKN colleagues, industry and academic partners and customers.

Who you are
You have a general interest in digitalization and automation and like to work with both software and hardware. Furthermore, that you have good ability to communicate and present plans and results internally as well as externally with our partners and good social skills, the ability to create effective networks and can take on a responsibility role. You are Interested to build AI applications and you have interest in data storage, and management of Big Data
Job Qualifications
You are an MSc, or similar with a competence profile in data science
Interested in Collecting and Structuring Data from Machine Sensors and External Data Sources for Data Science Applications
Capability to work with process data from Machines and solutions to collect an structure data as well as connecting network solutions for Machines
Capability to aggregate, label data and build database solutions for mix of numerical data and image data
You are proficient in English
You have an interest in digitalization and automation
