Engineer, transmission electron microscopes To Department of Physical, Inorganic and Structural Chemistry Ref no: SU 619-0644-09.Deadline for applications is 22/03/2009.The Department of Physical, Inorganic and Structural Chemistry, Stockholm University, Stockholm, Sweden wishes to recruit an engineer for the transmission electron microscopy laboratories. Job profile *Provide technical support and training for users of the transmission electron microscopes (TEM).*Actively participate in the development of novel TEM techniques and sample preparation procedures in collaboration with research groups at the department and external customers.*Depending on the competence and external funding, the research engineer will have a possibility to develop a research activity.*Interact with the manager of the electron microscopy group and the research engineer responsible for the scanning electron microscopes and with other scientists using the transmission electron microscopes.Be responsible for the administration relating to the microscopes.Requirements The candidate should have the following qualifications: *PhD degree *Have made a post-doc with focus on TEM studies *Experiences in electron diffraction, high resolution electron microscopy, microanalysis, STEM, exit wave reconstruction, off axis holography *Experiences in sample preparation techniques for TEM; ion milling, dimpling etc.*A strong background in crystallography with a focus on TEM studies on perovskites and nano-particles *Previous experience of training and educating EM users.*Training and extensive experience in using transmission and scanning electron microscopes in materials-related research.*Ability to interact and communicate with people.*Excellent command of both spoken and written English *Relevant computer skills.*Administrative qualifications Terms of employment - permanent - the position is available from 1 May 2009 - 40 hours per week - salary level depending on qualifications It is recommended to contact Prof.Contact persons Prof.Gunnar Svensson, Div.The application should be sent to no later than 22/03/2009, quoting ref.no.SU SU-619-0644-09 to: Stockholm University, Registrator/PÄ, SE-106 91 Stockholm, Sweden
