What we offer
Business Finance within Engineering is responsible for securing the profitability of our future and existing products and services – controlling Units on Engineering Cost, Material Cost and Investments.
As an Engineering Controller, you will be able to both create, develop and influence your daily work. You will assure profitability of our future products and offers by providing analysis on relevant cost types, benchmarks and steering business-related decisions based on value for customers. You will do that in close corporation with the Management teams in the units within Software Engineering. 
We are looking for talented people with a positive mindset that will play an important role in Software Engineering’s contribution to the overall profitability of Volvo Cars. The location is Gothenburg.

What you’ll do
You will work together with the Business Controllers and the unit teams within Software Engineering in providing financial recommendations and analysis work. The main responsibilities of an Engineering Controller include: 
Be the financial speaking partner for the line management of the Software units and represent finance in department meetings.
Drive the work and securing the quality in the delivery of actuals, forecasts, and outlooks as well as perform the consolidation of the Global view of the Software units combined.
Perform financial analysis of the engineering actuals development versus outlook in the monthly closing process for operational/engineering cost.
Secure short -and long-term value and profitability by financial planning of engineering costs (internal resources & external engineering) together with the operations.
Create presentations and reports to visualize and communicate financial development and performance within, and across, the units as well as present at different decision forums together with Business Controller.
Work together with other teams within Business Finance in actively contributing to developing, implementing, and improving financial principles, processes, and tools (globally and locally) within given area of responsibility.
Create awareness and contribute to the fostering of a business orientated mind-set by providing financial expertise, facts and context together with an understanding of business goals to drive decision-making towards business targets. Also, proactively initiate corrective actions to ensure financial targets and challenge operations to meet them.
Perform various analysis work and make applicable financial approvals.

What you’ll bring
You have a university degree in Finance, Business administration, Economics or similar. In your career you have obtained strong business acumen and nourished your analytical skills. To be successful in this role it’s important that you are able to understand, interpret, analyse and communicate financial information clearly and concisely in a contextual and visual manner. Good communication and collaborations skills will therefore be something you consider as part of your strengths. Experience from cross functional environments and the ability to see the bigger picture as well as experience of controlling within an R&D/Engineering organisation is considered merited.
In addition, you have good system understanding and efficient data handling skills. Experience in SAP and PowerBI merited.
