Engineering Director

In this role, you will have overall responsibility to manage the Construction design team in the Northvolt Ett facility.
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Managing the Northvolt Ett Construction design team to ensure that they can deliver on their responsibilities .
Mentoring and supporting the Northvolt Ett Construction design team.
Working with the Northvolt Ett project managers to ensure that the Northvolt Ett projects have the required design resources to deliver the projects on time, budget and to the level of quality required by Northvolt.
Working with central teams to develop the Northvolt Ett project procedures for executing the projects complete with the project time schedule and ensuring that they are being followed throughout the project stages.
Working with central teams to ensure that the discipline design guides, and technical specifications are available for use in Northvolt Ett projects.
Ensuring that the design software tools are being used by the multi-discipline engineering teams to generate the multi-discipline data-driven designs, which enable 3D, 4D and 5D design solutions.
Reviewing and approving the project design and procurement strategies.
Reviewing and approving the Northvolt Ett QA/QC documentation.
Reviewing and approving the Northvolt Ett projects’ scope of works.
Working with central teams during the Conceptual and Basic Design project phases and accepting the hand over of same at the beginning of the detailed design phase.
Working with the central teams to generate the supplier framework agreements.
Responsible for delivering the Northvolt Ett project designs.
Reporting the deviations from the Basic Design during the Detailed Design and Execution project phases.
Gathering the lessons learned during the Detailed Design and Execution project phases.
Able to promote and drive value engineering.
Main point of contact on site for project technical services.

Qualifications/education/experience
M.Sc. or Chartered or Professional Engineer in the Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Process or Electrical engineering fields.
Minimum of 10 years experience (preference is 15 years) in the design/engineering of heavy industrial, manufacturing, or chemical process facilities. Battery factory experience is ideal, but not required. Other facility types that are seen as relevant and welcome: pharmaceutical, data centers, oil & gas, automotive, food & beverage manufacturing, etc.
Have experience in multi-disciplinary engineering coordination, interfacing with construction and internal/external stakeholders.
Experience working on international industrial projects and in multi-cultural environments.
Experience in commissioning, start-up, and hand over of industrial facilities.



Specific Skills
Fluency in English.
Valuable (but not required) if fluency in other languages, including Swedish.
Familiarity with standard office and management software tools and platforms.
Extensive Project Manager skills, preferably PMI, IPMA or equivalent.
Ability to lead a team through technical and planning challenges.
Ability to manage a large team of people successfully.
