We would like you to have at least 10 years of experience of leading large multi-disciplined technology/engineering teams, with the experience of managing teams across multiple locations. You know how to drive significant technology transformational change in large, complex organisations and you have strong documented leadership skills. You get excited about the challenge of large complex organizations that require significant skills in managing stakeholders, dependent organizations and business owners.
You excel in following areas:
• how to manage large organizational change, senior stakeholder management and process design
• how to lead and motivate large technology team to high performance
• strong understanding of software engineering principles and the application as well as execution within a retail or similar environment
• strong understanding of software engineering practices including BDD, TDD, test automation, continuous delivery and integration
• deep understanding of the cost drivers in software delivery and the commercial consequences of the technical decisions made
• strong understanding of product delivery in a multi-market landscape with backlog dependencies on both programs and products
As a person you demonstrate a combination of capabilities of a technical software engineering leader and an passionate people manager. You have proven ability to lead large engineering teams developing good practices and driving continuous improvement in performance. In addition, you are able to foster and inspire a culture of agile working and continuous improvement within the software engineering function, encouraging simplicity, efficiency, ownership and end to end accountability.
We would like you to demonstrate strong conscious and authentic leadership skills. Leading in times of change and uncertainty, with the business goals and co-workers in focus along with understanding the complexity of IKEA business and the role of technology as an integrated part of the business is what you strive for. You are appreciated for your excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with senior business-leaders and inspire your team.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Domain Engineering Manager, you will drive the ongoing execution of the strategic agenda for Digital Technology together with rest of the management team. You will also identify cross-functional dependencies and remove blockers across engineering, design, and product management. Furthermore, you will be accountable for high quality software development and deployment as well as agreeing on the standards against which software development will take place. You will ensure provision of required skills and resources to support demand, through both development of IKEA co-workers and external partners.
You will also:
• be responsible for setting and driving execution of the strategic agenda for the Domain in collaboration with the responsible counterpart in the Product organization. You will define and execute a strategy and roadmap of change that both drive business performance and technical progression in terms of modern technology practices and architecture
• proactively drive the transformation of engineering, building an industry leading capability comprising of internal and external colleague and 3rd party vendors.
• build and lead a senior leadership team that can lead, inspire, and develop a large group of engineers ensuring that all teams understand the overall vision, direction, delivery process and responsibilities for any given initiative
• be accountable for the operational activities and daily running of all the domains system, ensuring that they meet the defined SLA’s
• represent IKEA/Ingka externally and act as a key internal leader in driving the Digital Agenda
• drive the engineering agenda of best practices and continuous delivery/ integration benchmarking against industry peers
• identify cross-functional dependencies beyond their area and remove blockers when needed across engineering, data & analytics, design and product management
