Arbetsbeskrivning
What we're looking for __
Svea Solar is seeking a change maker, a talented and curious individual who possesses problem-solving skills. You'll lead a cross-functional team working with our Digital Marketing Assets, Sites, and web apps.
What we offer __
We have a welcoming attitude where you are allowed to bring the best of yourself. Each team is formed by its members, and your job is to support your team, not to conform to an organisational chart.
You will have the agency to make your distinct judgment calls and get support from those around you while doing so. You will get to code with the rest of the team to spread knowledge, maybe by mob programming if you like. You will be able to spend time learning at work, and we have flexible working hours.
What you will do __
Your job would mostly be about finding the most important work to do and then making sure that it gets done with as little effort as needed.
- Empower, shape, and grow a team of software engineers.
- Drive technical products and provide leadership in an innovative and ambitious culture where people can grow.
- Be responsible for shaping the team's processes to make sure that the team can focus on what matters most.
- Influence and contribute to software design discussions and implementations.
- Work closely with our awesome marketing folks, product strategists, and creative groups to ensure we are building the best experiences.
- Help build a healthy and engaging engineering culture.
What we value __
We hope that you feel comfortable in some of these areas, and curious about most of them.
- Strong fundamental web development skills. This includes code structure, testing, styling, debugging, understanding HTTP, and Caching techniques. This role focuses mainly on the frontend part, although there can be some backend work involved too.
- Experience with complete web DevOps on AWS.
- Solid understanding of Marketing Engineering SEO fundamentals and Analytics.
- Knowledge of Continuous Delivery, and the tools around frontend development.
- Observability; which affects how we log, trace usability, measure performance, and track bugs. To offer a lovable experience to our users, we need to understand how our products behave in the real world.
- Experience with software engineering leadership. Mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, hiring amazing people.
- A helpful attitude. It's great if you make things happen by engaging the entire team. You spend time understanding your colleagues and help them progress on their journey.
- Quality. We believe that quality makes things go smoother. By keeping a high level of quality, we can keep on scaling and not only deliver on time but also have a more positive impact on our users.
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
- Most importantly, we value you.
Our tech stack __
Remember when we used to write websites with HTML, CSS and jQuery, then upload them through Filezilla to your hosting provider. Well, things are different now.
- Typescript
- React, Hooks, and Context API
- CSS, theme UI, Emotion
- Sanity Headless CMS
- Gatsby, GraphQL
- Axios / Fetch
- Jest, Cypress
- Node.js
- Github Actions
- AWS - S3, Route53, CloudFront, EC2, Lambda
- Google Cloud Platform - Places, Maps
- Google Search Console, Lighthouse, Google Tag Manager
- Sentry - Error Monitoring
Our team processes __
We work according to the agile manifest and find inspiration in lean, such as focusing on one thing at a time. We borrow from Basecamp's Shape Up framework, picking the parts we like.
The team chooses its methods. We have a spectrum from no-estimate planning, mob programming sessions with daily retros to a more standard scrum with planning poker, daily check-ins, and 2-week sprints.
It's up to you to help find out what works best for you and your team.
The interview process __
Please reach out to us with a little intro of who you are, what you can do, and where you want to go in the future. If you want to, we encourage a simple webcam recording if it helps you express yourself.
Resume, portfolio, personal blog, or notes are highly appreciated. If you have a GitHub repo or something similar, please make it easy for us to find what you want us to see so we don't miss it.
You are free to show your skills as you like, and ask us for resources that you need from us to make sure that we are a good match for each other.
You can expect some pair programming, in which case you will get the chance to choose the setup. We will focus on how it feels to work together more than the result of the code. A typical session will be to build a single frontend component.
We use "Veriferas" services to ensure that all the candidates being considered for employment have a background that is compatible with Svea Solars' core values. The selection of candidates and interviews are ongoing and the position could be filled before the last application date.
We at Svea Solar are excited to receive your application!
