About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join Symphony Stockholm to help build and craft the next generation of real-time communication experiences in the cloud.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of highly skilled and hardworking backend developers who architect, build, maintain and operate Symphony Meetings - a fully cloud-based platform for online meetings. In this role, you will lead and grow an amazing team and work with product delivery teams building high-performance, highly available and reliable products that support a 24/7 real-time secure communications cloud platform.


What you'll be doing:
You’ll lead development of Symphony Meetings Cloud / Backend Development
Provide technical guidance and hands-on management of an engineering team
Take ownership of performance and stability for all server functions
Drive timely delivery of software release
Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus among team members
Remove obstacles, create solutions and constantly improve quality and production
Recruit and lead world-class software engineers
Lead with passion and creativity, we love what we do, so should you

Your experience and background:
Your experience is showcased from previous software engineering roles, demonstrating your craft in highly scalable and available cloud-based services
Experience and knowledge through the fundamentals of development processes
A passion and experience of cloud-based application development, with the know how for global scalable services
The ability to drive architectural directions in a cloud-native environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowing how to speak to technical and non technical audiences
A track record of running successful teams, with coaching and mentoring skills
Experience of working with senior management, including product management
Use to working in a dynamic and growing environment
Ability to attract and hire great talent as we continue to grow
Experience of working with WebRTC, real-time streaming services and/or other methods to do voice over IP communication, this is what we do
Knowledge of the client-side, understanding how this and the back-end connect
Experience essential, but a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent related technical field is desirable
