What’s in it for you?
This role is within our Consumer Care Engineering. You will be responsible for developing the Consumer Care Platform along with Product and UX teams, defining the technology strategy and architecture for the Consumer Care Platform. The idea with the Consumer Care Platform is to provide Volvo Cars retailers a 360-degree partnership platform that unites assisted sales management, service operations, performance management, education, and community into a one-stop-shop solution, allowing them to efficiently operate and grow their business while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
The team is primarily located in Gothenburg, Stockholm Sweden, and we also have teams in the San Francisco US and in Shanghai China. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft, Tradera, Klarna, EA Games etc.
You And Your Skills
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager, who has previously built custom software solutions/platforms and led software engineering teams. You have deep experience in agile engineering practices and follow current technology and architectural trends. You have strong experience with Salesforce and/or similar platforms.
You will likely spend some time on defining technology strategy and architecture along with the team and the rest of your time as the manager of a development team, responsible for hiring, compensation, and employee career development. You are also someone who has a lot of experience working hands on with the team to build and develop solutions.
You probably have a degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. You have a passion for transforming and developing digital products, architecture and best practices, love to interact with development teams to understand their needs and product missions, and with servant leadership and a strong technical foundation you strive to create a fast and fun developer experience. Strong people management, collaboration and communication skills are essential in this role.
Together with the other digital leaders, you will
• Lead and develop technology and technology strategy for the Consumer Care Platform and make sure the architecture and strategy enable the product vision.
• Overall responsible for quality of technical design and development.
• Mentor and coach team members as well as removing obstacles in their way to deliver at scale and speed.
• Drive and nurture collaboration, diversity, and engagement.
• Advocate and advance a modern software development, operation, and engineering practices.
• Always find ways to learn and continuously improve our products and practices.
