Arbetsbeskrivning
Would you like to support a team of engineers in creating digital experiences for millions and millions of kids all over the world?
The engineering craft in Toca Boca is growing, and we’re bringing on an Engineering Manager to help build a great employee experience for our team of engineers. You’ll make sure that your team has everything they need, and together with our two other Engineering Managers you’ll help the full team of engineers be the best they can be.
What you’ll be doing
Together with our two other Engineering Managers you'll lead our growing team of developers. You’ll focus on the people side of things, supporting engineers specialised in a range of areas - from front to backend, game development and DevOps. The engineers are all part of various projects - Central Tech, Toca Life World or Toca Days.
You’ll hold regular check-ins with each team member, as well as manage annual performance and salary reviews. You’ll support team members with goal setting and individual development plans, ensuring everyone is set up to grow and develop in their roles. You’ll learn what motivates the members on your team and what they need to perform at a higher level, and you’ll act as a mentor - someone they can reach out to for advice and guidance.
You will stay up to date with what is going on in the projects, and partner with Producers around staffing and recruiting needs. You’ll help recruit and bring on new engineering talent, ensuring a great onboarding experience.
Together with the other Engineering Managers you’ll guide and help the overall craft grow in skills and knowledge. You’ll enable knowledge sharing across projects and engineering functions, and build trust within and between teams.
Is this you?
You are an experienced people manager with a background in tech. Maybe you have worked as a developer in the past but your current focus is on leading and developing people. You understand how engineers operate - the work that is done and how it’s done, and the challenges they might face in their day-to-day work.
You’re comfortable in your role as a leader, and can balance the day-to-day administrative side of the role with supporting the team’s long-term professional growth and development. You understand what forms a healthy team culture, and how to foster and maintain this in a team of engineers spread across functions and projects.
You believe in the power of play!
This is us!

You’ll need to be located in Sweden as we are unable to support relocation. As we’re an international company, with over 20 nationalities working here, and millions of users all over the world, you need to be fluent in English. Your application should therefore be in English.
