Climate department - let’s introduce ourselves
As a part of the Climate department you will be an instrumental part of the team that creates the energy efficient cabin climate and air quality for our customers.
We are more than 100 curious and engaged engineers eager to deliver a recognized cabin climate experience for our customers. We are at the forefront of developing climate control systems for both current and future Volvo Cars models. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate to deliver integrated hardware and software solutions. As part of this dynamic environment, the Climate Control & Calibration Group plays a crucial role. We define, develop, test, and calibrate software functions. Including Heat pump, Air quality and HVAC controls.
We have responsibility from research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers within the field. This position as an Engineering manager for our climate functions and software development area includes the responsibility for bringing out the best in our employees and organization.
What You’ll Do
You will lead and coach four development teams developing embedded software components for application. The teams work with software architecture and base software development for our customer functions.
As a leader at Volvo Cars, you help create an open and trusting environment where we build on people’s strengths. A Volvo Car leader makes sure to develop themselves, people, and business.
In addition to this you will be part of the leadership team of our department and have a broad collaboration within our network within Volvo Cars.

* Secure deliveries and lead teams effectively.
* Expand team capabilities in close collaboration with the Product Owner, ensuring alignment with strategic technology and business goals.
* Work closely with your team members to develop and coach them to their fullest potential.
* Recruit highly skilled individuals based on identified capability and competence needs.

Education and Skills
* You have an academic background and education on MSc or BSc level or equivalent.
* You have a technical background with hands-on experience in software development.
* You have a strong interest in leadership and developing people with proven collaboration skills and experience.
* You need to be fluent in English (spoken and written).
* You have a driving license B valid in Sweden.
