Engineering Manager - Audio Solutions Firmware

We are now looking for a skilled and passionate leader who will build and develop our firmware team!

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
In this role you will be responsible for the firmware team within the department. You will be making sure that the team have the right competence and dedicated engineers, through coaching, motivating and running appraisal talks on a continuous basis. You will have the opportunity and responsibility to build and form your team and its working methods and strategies to meet future challenges. You will also work very close to the projects and make sure that the team delivers in an efficient and positive way.

As the team delivers firmware to different stakeholders, you will be having a broad network and focus to uphold positive relationships.

As a part of Audio Solutions management team, you will actively contribute in driving the department forward and sharing best practices.

You will report to the R&D Director of Audio Solutions at New Business.

THE AUDIO SOLUTIONS FIRMWARE TEAM
The team consists of ~20 engineers working in four scrum teams. Their way of working is open-minded and offers flexibility as well as strong ownership. The main focus is to deliver all firmware for the Audio Solutions department to create end-end solutions. This is done in daily collaboration with Hardware, Quality Assurance and Application development teams.

The team is responsible for all firmware phases of the product area; architecture, design, implementation, maintenance and trouble shooting. The team also have the responsibility to evaluate new technologies and ideas for future products.

The team works with frameworks and techniques such as C, Linux, Git/Gerrit, MQTT, JSON RESTful API and Rust.

The team is located in Lund.

OUR NEW BUSINESS DEPARTMENT
New Business is an organization within AXIS with teams mainly in Lund, Sweden and Prague, Czech Republic. We are responsible for evaluating new business ideas and M&A opportunities from a technical and commercial perspective. We develop a number of innovative product lines outside Axis network video, to offer our customers the best products, solutions and services on the market. The New Business organization acts very independent, with a high degree of flexibility, and offers everything from electronic and mechanics hardware to full stack development.

The ambition is to leverage on Axis existing expertise and capacity and further build on a flexible and open co-operation with other departments.
