Engineering Manager - Common Core Platform

We are currently looking for our next Engineering Manager for the Common Core Platform team - someone who wants to be a vital part of an innovative and encouraging environment!

Your future team
Your team is responsible for software areas and components that build the fundamentals of Axis fantastic video surveillance products. These are Linux kernel and embedded OS, device drivers with focus on the CPU subsystems, platform/product boot and platform security features for both Axis internally designed and 3rd party ASICs (SoC).

The team has 13 members and is a very technically skilled and senior team that values individual growth, teamwork, and great spirit. Their tasks span from specifying and contributing with next generation Axis ASIC (SoC) to debugging complex problems and continuously contribute to embedded Linux open-source community.

The role
In the role as an Engineering Manager you will lead the team operationally and strategically, making sure that they get the needed support and coaching.

You work with improving our ways of working together and how we develop our product platforms.

We work together in the management team and have close relationships with product and program managers to develop our technology and product platforms to meet the needs of future customers in the video surveillance market. In other words - you are never alone, and you have great support from your management team. You will also cooperate with other parts of Axis R&D and technology development organization.

You set the framework and directions, and place great trust in your team to deliver with your support!

Your main tasks will be to:

* Develop your team and its members related to both the needs of the company as well as in balance with the needs of every individual.
* Making sure we have the right competence and organization to run and organize day-to-day operations.
* Perform standard management tasks like development talks, salary setting, budgeting, recruitment, etc.
* Act as team ambassador representative towards internal and external partners

You also have:

* Leadership experience, such as Team Lead, Project Manager or Line Manager
* Interest in developing and challenging yourself as leader and manager.
* Interest in technology and product development
* Master's degree in engineering
* Fluent in Swedish and English
