We are looking for someone that's passionate about technology and people with the passion to coach and develop great engineering teams, facilitating good teamwork, and building fantastic products.  Your mission is to deliver a common M&C technology foundation for IKEA to enable IKEA to deliver an attractive omnichannel experience, enabled by an effective digital work foundation for our co-workers. Preferable you have a good understanding and global experience of digital marketing and content management lifecycle architecture and technologies. 

In your role as Engineering Manager, you will lead and guide our software engineering teams in the development of a common M&C technology foundation for IKEA customers and co-workers.  You will coach our managers and co-workers by ensuring they are constantly growing as engineers, while solving complex technical problems that deliver value to our customers and co-workers. Additionally, you will contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as part of the technology leadership within IKEA.

Your assignment will include: 
Develop and lead common M&C technology capabilities e.g. digital platforms, products, data, services and workflows for IKEA 
Develop the technical vision and long-term technology strategy for M&C 
Secure proper design, architecture, and technology in place for M&C technology platforms and products 
Secure preconditions for efficient software development for both SaaS solutions and bespoke SW development 

Build, lead and develop teams of world-class engineers and engineering managers 
Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders (including suppliers) to improve solution architectures with learnings from best practices within software development and industry 
Drive Operational Excellence across team’s services. 
Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives in the IKEA technology network 
Qualifications 

You are passionate about technology and appreciate the mix of strategic thinking and turning technology trends and requirements into practice. You are the type of person that can manage to see the big picture as well as the details and you collaborate and communicate with your stakeholders to build trust and partnerships to reach our common goals. 

You will bring with you deep understanding and experience software development combined with an understanding of the current and future digital technology trends, industry standards, architecture frameworks and modelling techniques.  

You have knowledge of following areas: 
M.Sc. in computer science or equivalent academic degree within the area of IT and a minimum of 10 years of experience from leading and delivering software in a global setup 
Preferable experience from design and development of Martech platforms such as Digital Asset Management (DAM), Product Information Management (PIM), Content Management (CMS), API creation, cloud services, marketing automation, CRM and e-commerce 

Understanding of modern data architectures, data extract mechanisms, functional decomposition and business rules engines 
Agile, DevOps working set-up and how to deliver cloud-based solutions. 
The ability to lead build and lead cross functional teams 
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a drive for result and optimization 
Creative and innovative, able to challenge common ways of thinking.
