About the role
We’re looking for an Engineering manager to help our Platform team build excellent products for our global customers. You will ensure your team members are happy and engaged, and you will use your technical skills to ensure the team makes the right decisions on architecture and implementation.

About the Platform team
The team you’ll be managing consists of 3 developers, 1 DevOps, 1Data Engineer and 1 product manager (not managed by you). In the Platform team, we focus on developing and maintaining the foundation which other teams can build customer-facing products. For example internal APIs and data storage and pipelines. Platform is also responsible for the customer facing APIs, and is currently building our next generation API.

Throughout the organization we take an agile approach to processes and teamwork, and we constantly evaluate and adapt, with the teams being responsible for their own ways of working. Developers, Product Managers and UX Designers are working together in the teams. We use modern frameworks and the best tools available.

Some of your responsibilities:
- Be responsible for solution design as well as doing hands-on work together with the rest of the team.
- Ensure development of your direct reports through coaching, mentoring, and management support.
- Be a champion for code quality, stability and testability within our product and services.
- Work closely with Engineering management to ensure a sound architecture.
- Be responsible for discovery, pre-planning and grooming activities on Product level.
- Work together with our Agile Coach to define and improve ways of working within the team.
- Identify and document general maintenance and enhancement efforts in the team’s tech stack
- Work closely with Engineering management and the recruitment team in hiring and on-boarding new colleagues.


When it comes to technical proficiency we are primarily looking for experience from
- Node.js and/or Typescript
- Working with the cloud (AWS), serverless principles and/or microservices
- DevOps practices


Experience with PHP, Go or the SIP protocol is highly valued!

We also expect you to have experience from (and a passion for!) leading people and building highly motivated and productive development teams.
