Engineering Manager Software

Engineering Manager Software

Arbetsbeskrivning

Do you want to push the performance of eye tracking algorithms beyond what is possible today and transform how humans interact with machines? If your answer is yes, keep on reading because you want to hear about what we have to say!
As Engineering Manager & Scrum Master at Tobii, you will have the possibility to build a rapidly growing agile organization of skilled engineers striving to make driving safer through Tobii DMS and at the same time still have one foot in development.
Tobii Driver Monitoring System (Tobii DMS) is based on 20 years of innovation in eye tracking. It is a powerful solution for identifying drivers and assessing their attention. Tobii DMS translates camera images into a stream of core driver-state signals such as a person’s gaze point, how open their eyes are, and their head pose. These signals help save lives by delivering real-time feedback on driver state, such as drowsiness and distraction.
We are now looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Automotive team. You will manage a team of 8-12 engineers working with computer vision, algorithms, and firmware development who enjoy collaborating, learning, improving, and delivering solutions that help our customers make driving safer. You will also be a Scrum master in a team, facilitating, leading and participating in the development work as much as possible. The team is growing rapidly, and you will play a key role in forming the organization and ways of working.
The role and responsibilities:
Manage a team of highly skilled algorithm and firmware developers. This includes coaching, staff retention, recruitment as well as general administration.
Define the company culture to create an innovative organization able to solve novel and challenging problems.
Grow the size of the organization significantly while maintaining an agile workflow.
Drive long-term planning and strategy within the automotive department to meet long-term organizational and strategic goals.
Take part in driving process development and standards compliance.
Make sure we meet the business demands, commitments, and improvement objectives. Participate in customer contacts.
As Scrum Master, support the team members and Product Owners.
Protect the team from uncontrolled work expansion and communicate with the relevant management and outside stakeholders.

To succeed in this position, we believe that you:
Have an MSc or PhD in engineering physics, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent.
Are passionate about building an agile organization in a regulatory industry.
Have a passion for creating an energetic fun environment where developers thrive and achieve their full potential.
Have experience leading teams working on the development of complex software solutions.
Have a solid experience in product RnD in fields related to images or similar signals.
Have good knowledge of C++ and Python programming

It is a plus if you have experience in the automotive or other industries with high regulatory requirements.
