Hej! My name is Petra and I am proud to lead the engineering teams of Store Digital.

WHAT WOULD WE ASK FROM YOU?
We are looking for technology leaders who share our IKEA values and are ready to change the world and be part of an ambitious, yet exciting journey within IKEA.
1) Solid technical background
• You have a good balance of breadth and depth in technical knowledge. Experienced or familiar with BDD, TDD, test automation, Continuous Delivery, DevOps, code versioning, and industry standard toolsets
• You have experience creating software at global scale, preferably in cloud-based microservices architectures.
• You have knowledge of design and architecture concepts (i.e. microservices, API-first, event-driven architectures...) and the ability to apply them within the software development lifecycle
2) People skills
• You have a real passion for managing engineers and building high performing, happy, focused and empathetic teams.
• You have experience building and growing engineering teams at a pace: hiring, inspiring, and mentoring them.
• You love to inspire your engineering teams and others to build the highest standard of software that builds confidence with our customers, operations and stakeholders due to its excellence in agility and resilience.
• You like to create a one team atmosphere between all co-workers in engineering, product, data science, business development, operations etc.
• You are inclusive, humble and passionate about creating a learning organization.
3) Delivery obsession
• Early and continuous delivery of value to our customers is your obsession. Still, the software your team builds must be robust, scalable, secure and reliable.
• You have experience in startups or companies with a clear Agile and Lean culture
• You are comfortable with uncertainty and with a greenfield context where everything is still to be done.
• You enjoy building your teams with a DevOps mentality to develop new, scalable, enterprise technology, able to run globally 24/7.
4) Customer Orientation
• You have passion for using technology to build products that solve real world problems
• You don’t perceive technology as an end, but as a way to transform the world, creating amazing products and experiences that impact our customers worldwide

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
Store Digital is focusing on providing a convenient, inspiring and fun shopping experience to the many customers of the physical IKEA stores with an ecosystem of global digital solutions. We are working on enhancing the physical journey in the IKEA stores with digital solutions! We are building a winning team with a clear mission and priorities and we want you to be part of it.
As an engineering manager you are the line manager for a team of software engineers and you are accountable for the technical delivery within our digital organization. You will have the exciting challenge to:
● Build and run the technology that underpins our global 40 Billion Euro business, operating across 377+ stores and 30 countries.
● Creating software with a greenfield approach, with a massive scale impact in one of the IKEA key areas for the coming years.
● Work in a startup alike environment, but with all the support of a global, iconic and value-driven company like IKEA.
● Build from scratch, lead, inspire and motivate a high performing team of engineers. You will help the teams drive a cloud first agenda, adhere to modern software engineering principles, utilize the proper tools, and automate everything to enable the specified business outcomes. Recruitment, performance, competence and career development of individuals will also be part of your responsibilities.
● Provide technical domain knowledge, architectural leadership and coach the teams in high class standards for software engineering and operations
● Work closely with the assigned product owners and all groups within the Digital Technology organization in order to deliver the assigned digital products and services
● Help build a digital mindset and an engineering culture that is accountability and results orientated, where Lean principles and a DevOps mindset will be in the core.

The home office for this role will be Malmö, but occasionally there will be travel globally to meet some stakeholders and partners.
