As the Engineering Manager for the Subscription Manager you’ll play a key part in Volvo Cars transformation to talking directly with end users. The Subscription Manager will be a key service in enabling direct sales and will help Volvo Cars innovate our future subscription models.

You can be based in one of our offices in Gothenburg or Stockholm.

What you’ll do: 
You will lead and grow a team of hardworking backend engineers through hiring, mentoring, inspiring and feedback. You will ensure, through streamlined execution and experimentation, that our solutions meet the needs of our customers quickly and accurately. You will be the voice of engineering in the Product team through a friendly and effective collaboration with your product counterpart. 
Moreover, you will advocate and strengthen a modern, agile software development and help us develop and foster good engineering practices. You will ensure the solutions are scalable, sustainable, architecturally sound, and that technical debt is both incurred consciously and repaid in a reasonable time. Lastly, you will be an active member of the cluster engineering leadership team and collaborate with other leaders across the organization.

Do you fit the profile?
- We believe that you have experience of working with backend micro services (preferrably with Java)
- You love to lead, develop, inspire and grow an engineering team, and have previous experience doing so.
- It is meritorious if you have worked with systems enabling subscriptions in the past.
- You are very knowledgeable and passionate about modern software development that builds products our customers love. You are passionate about digital technologies and willing to work hands-on to try new technologies.
- Finally, you are someone that fully embraces a growth mindset, and you have the ability to encourage others to do the same. You are someone who likes to have fun at work and makes sure everyone always feels welcome and included!
