We are now looking for a new colleague to join us in the role as Engineering Manager for Eka Engineering at Nouryon. This is an excellent opportunity to work with experienced colleagues and lead a highly professional team of engineers. YOU WILL
Be part of Eka Engineering that specializes in the design and supply of chlorine dioxide plants and equipment to the pulp and chemical industries. Eka Engineering is the engineering and contracting division that is part of our Renewable Fibers business. We have a broad set of expertise at Eka Engineering and that includes colleagues within process, mechanical, piping, automation, commissioning to mention a few.
As our Manager of Engineering you will lead and distribute work, secure resources for sales and project execution and set individual targets. Other important parts of your role will be to improve engineering processes, set targets for the team and follow up on continuous improvements. You are also expected to ensure that best available technology and equipment design is implemented in our offerings and projects.
Other tasks and areas of responsibilities:
- Lead decision taking within process and mechanical design in sales and project work
- Cooperation with consultant companies and with Nouryon global network to find correct resources in sales and project work
- Develop the performance of the team with way of working and individual training
- Monitor and follow up on progress and results in projects as member of steering committee
As a line manager, you will have a team of engineers within process, mechanical and engineering & support reporting to you.
YOU ARE
We expect you to have a long experience of design work in chemical, pulp & paper industry or other relevant area. You also need to have experience from working in capital projects in a global industrial environment. A university degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is needed and strong leadership qualifications and previous experience as line manager is highly preferred. This position requires to be fluent in Swedish and English, and other languages is a plus. You will need to travel globally on some occasions.
We value characteristics such as being entrepreneurial, result oriented and a good listener. Your interpersonal skills are important, and we expect you to have high content experience and negotiation skills. Other important traits are strong ability to cooperate and to be teamwork oriented. As a leader and line manager, you need to have a natural way of coaching and be inspirational and good at motivating, that includes being good at uniting a team towards common goals and way of working. Furthermore, this role will require you to be analytical, understand what needs to be prioritized and to be able to find solutions to problems.
