WHAT YOU WILL DO
Your mission as the Engineering Manager is to lead the engineering function and engineering processes (including investment- and process development projects) ensuring that machine performance, technical solutions, budgeted targets and investment opportunities are both coordinated and met.
Working collaboratively with the Site Leadership and Operational teams, the EMEA Engineering Team and members of the Global Specialist Teams, you will provide a strategically functioning and operationally sound Engineering function, continuously improving and developing policies, technical processes, procedures and data management.
Of course, you will also need to plan, direct, and coordinate the engineering activities facilitating efficient, best practice and safe manufacturing operations across the site.
You will be accountable for all on-going engineering activities on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis covering all areas of the site.

Reporting to our Site Director you will assesses the cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes and make and implement recommendations to reduce costs and improve operational performance. You’ll need to be willing to travel to other manufacturing sites globally to learn about Oatly and to meet the Global Engineering Team!
You will have an opportunity to develop the site Engineering team (Project managers and System Engineers, 10 people in total) and you’ll also be part of the site Leadership Team yourself. The site is under development as we are growing; and this implies that you will be also responsible to drive the local PMO, initiating pre-studies and classifying project portfolio on site, coordinating with team members in EMEA and also globally.
WHO YOU ARE
You’ll be an Experienced Engineer with a degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Production Engineering together with a Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques qualification. You will be experienced leading within in a 24/7 production environment, preferably from the food or process industry; and will have significant exposure of working within a company having a continuous improvement-based culture. Experience of working with an ERP system would also be highly useful.
You must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage and manage engineering teams, coaching people to be at their best and to find their own solutions whilst creating a safe and inclusive environment. You have a collaborative spirit, helping your team to visualize goals and follow up on development in projects.
You also need to be able to facilitate collaboration that supports alignment, creativity and results. You need to be self-aware and growth-oriented and to understand your own strengths and limitations.
You communicate fluently, orally and in written, in both Swedish and English.
