Engineering Manager – Translator Technology

As an Engineering Manager for the Translator technology team – part of EDS (Embedded Development Solutions) Engineering, you will support the success of a team of experienced software engineers, where you communicate expectations, initiatives, and goals. The Translator technology team, that is divided into sub teams, works with the development of compilers, linkers, tools for static code analysis and run-time libraries. These products are developed for use with targets such as Arm and RISC-V and to analyze C and C++ code.
About the role
As part of the engineering management team you will contribute to the evolution of the translator team as a part of the whole of EDS. We are striving for better ways of working as well as new technologies. You will accomplish this by collaborating with stakeholders across various domains; technical as well as organizational. Your responsibilities will include budget, full employment journey, individual coaching and your teams delivery of values to stakeholders. You will be responsible for budget work and managing employees through the full employee journey of hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, salary reviews, and exits. Your responsibility also includes your team’s results and coaching your team to continuously deliver value to stakeholders and working towards company goals.
You report to the VP of EDS Engineering and your place of work is in Uppsala, where a hybrid remote solution is possible.
Your qualifications
You have previous manager experience and have a background in software development industry preferably with a solid focus on embedded systems. You are comfortable in your leadership and can align a team towards common goals and work to find solutions together with the teams you work with. Your understanding of how to work efficiently in agile processes with software development will support you in leading the experienced developers in this team. Experience to advocate and advance modern software engineering practices is a prerequisite for the role.
Leadership and communication are your most important tools. You will build and inspire your team by enabling an innovative and creative atmosphere. To be successful, you bring a positive attitude and can give and receive constructive feedback. This will help you deliver the solutions needed by our customers. You are successful when your team is successful.
Key qualifications for this role:
At least two years of leadership experience with responsibility for personnel
Experience from change management
A positive and enthusiastic approach
Understands the pros and cons with different software development practices
You have structure in balance with pragmatism
You can express yourself effortlessly in Swedish as well as English



Your application will receive extra credit if you have experience with microprocessor architectures, compiler theory, functional safety, and embedded systems.
