We are looking for a Specialist to join our innovative team in delivering key environmental solutions within the infrastructure sectors, including heavy civil, transport, water, and environment. Our team plays a crucial role in driving business development across Sweden, and we’re proud to have contributed to project wins like the Railway Plan Borås, Göteborg-Borås, the detailed design of the new railway through Kolmården (part of the Eastlink), and the Vävra-Marstrand Wastewater Tunnel.
In our department, 10 highly motivated colleagues work with environmental investigations at various stages. Many of our projects are executed in collaboration with other units within the company, including environmental specialists in Denmark and Norway. COWI offers opportunities to join international networks within your specialty area and even work abroad if that interests you.

Your Key Responsibilities
Lead environmental assessments and investigations related to contaminated sites.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure projects.
Provide guidance and expertise in remediation strategies and regulatory compliance.
Support business development by contributing to key project proposals and bids.
Mentor and/or develop technical development in the contaminated sites discipline depending on prior experience
Qualifications
Success in this role begins with a commitment to teamwork, building strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients. You thrive on continuous improvement and always seek new ways to enhance your work.
Additionally, you will have:
A degree in environmental engineering, geology, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience within contaminated sites (if you have more experience we also have opportunities for your experience)
Proven experience working on contaminated sites, including site investigation and remediation.
Good knowledge of environmental regulations and standards in Sweden.
Ability to lead projects independently and communicate effectively.
Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and verbal.
