Included in the work description, aside form common teacher tasks such as planning, teaching, marking and follow-ups, is mentorship for 16 students in the one of the year levels that you teach. As a mentor you are obliged to contact the guardians, at least once a month, with individual feedback about their child’s social and academic development at our school. You have to be available for meetings with parents, students or colleagues and to actively work towards maintaining the IES Ethos and vision. We need a clear classroom management and visible leadership during lessons and and open communication between teacher and students. Focus lies on learning and a calm environment and the schools routines and rules are followed by students and staff alike.

I tjänsten ingår förutom sedvanliga arbetsuppgifter, såsom planering, undervisning och rättning, även mentorskap för 16 elever i år 4. Som mentor kontaktar du vårdnadshavare minst en gång i månaden med individuell feedback om barnens akademiska och sociala situation. Du finns tillgänglig för föräldramöten och konferenser och deltar aktivt i att upprätthålla skolans etos och vision. Vi tror på ett tydligt ledarskap i klassrummet med öppen kommunikation mellan elev och lärare. Fokus ligger på lärande och arbetsro och skolans regler och rutiner kommuniceras och efterföljs av både elever och personal.



As a person you are flexible, a dedicated team player and have a positive approach to your subject which leads to you being creative and willing to go the extra mile for your colleagues and students. You have the tools to create a good learning environment in the classroom and your clear leadership and teaching style are the key to your students success. You can differentiate your teaching to reach different students and can work inclusively with different special needs students in cooperation with Student Care and Special Educators. Continuous feedback to students and parents with feedback on progress and needs for improvement is a must and has to take time and be a natural part of your teaching. We are looking for someone that has a Teaching Degree / Bachelor of Education and feels comfortable with teaching students 10-15 years of age in an international work environment. IES Tyresö is a school for grades 4-9 with approx. 940 students and a staff body of about 83 members. The school is situated in the south of Stockholm 20 minutes from Gullmarsplan metro station and a 5 minnute walk from Tyresö Centrum. One of the bus stops is situated behind the school and we have access to a garage with parking possibilities for a monthly fee.
