Senior Manager Instrumentation & Automation
The Senior Manager Instrumentation & Automation will be overall responsible for Instrumentation & Automation, specifically of DRI plants and Material handling equipment. You will also be responsible for hiring Instrument Engineers & Technicians, evaluating their performance and manage work and oversee employee training within the DRI group. Senior Manager I&A acts as process discipline lead providing technical support for various projects and initiatives and works with other managerial staff to ensure project completion in an efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
Build a strong team of Instrument Engineers & Technicians and direct daily work assigned to the team.
Act as chief technical resource on all electrical and instrumentation designs, including advising project/operations teams and coordinating E/I Engineering efforts with other departments and disciplines.
Authorize release of Instrumentation Engineering deliverables during project execution, including wiring diagrams, instrument and motor lists, hazardous area drawings, instrument specifications, device location drawings, and electrical logic drawings.
Provide input relating to the evaluation, proposal, and/or implementation of process improvements to a DR plant.
Reviewing Engineering deliverables during project execution, including E&I drawings, logic drawings, and instrumentation specifications.
Manage short- & long-term projects for operational Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Projects.
Liaise with Senior Management to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met & manage project aspects impacting quality, timing or production output.
Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources. Analyze any deviation from budget, determine if corrective action needed.
Participate in plant long-term production planning as required, including maintenance & shutdown planning, analyses of technical documentation, managerial budget & cost control decisions.
Monitoring KPIs to ensure cost-efficiency; formulating cost controls; long term Maintenance planning, developing preventive maintenance plan & major projects for annual capital budget, 5-year capital expenditure; CapEx projects design & execution.
Requirements:
10 years or more in a Senior/Managerial role in DRI plant Instrumentation & Automation
Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience, related to direct reduction plant
Diploma/ Bachelor of Science in Instrumentation
Experienced in HV/MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MV/LV motors, DCS & PLC control systems, all phases of projects up to completion & manpower supervision, with good exposure to testing and commissioning activities of various projects.
Demonstrated success in bridging communications with senior management, operations, technical departments and managerial discretion.
