Enterprising Coordinator to Software Center

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is a joint department at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg, with activities on two campuses in the city of Gothenburg. The department has around 210 employees from over 30 countries. Our research has a wide span, from theoretical foundations to applied systems development. We provide high quality education at Bachelor's, Master's and graduate levels, offering over 120 courses each year. We also have extensive national and international collaborations with academia, industry and society.


Information about the division
The Software Center is strategic partnership between academia and industry with the intent of accomplishing an order of magnitude improvement in software engineering productivity for the Nordic software intensive systems industry. Currently, the center has 10 partners: seven companies, i.e. Ericsson, AB Volvo, Volvo Cars, Saab EDS, Axis Communications, Jeppesen and Grundfos, and three universities, i.e. Chalmers University of Technology, University of Gothenburg and Malmö University. Software Center has its home at the Lindholmen campus of Chalmers.

Job description
Your job is to, in partnership with the center director, develop the center’s communication and information sharing as well as to coordinate events, conferences, travels etc. Some of your main tasks will be;

• Planning, arrangement and perform events
• Coordination and administration of travels, meetings and conferences
• Communication through simpler web updates, textwriting- and processing as well as photography
• Maintaining cooperations, networks and contacts (researchers and industrial contacts)

We expect that you are able to summarize the center’s activities and research results for dissemination via, among others, newsletters and reports.  Some finance and administrative support is part of the position as well as acting as the contact person in case the director is not available.

Qualifications
We believe that you have a relevant higher education within project administration, communication, marketing or equivalent. Some experience in a similar role are highly appreciated. You are close to fluent in English and Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Some experience with web content tools and general computer software application experience is necessary to succeed in this role. Affinity with technology and research is beneficial.

As a person, we expect you to be professional, service minded and to like to interact with researchers and others in a knowledge intensive environment. To work in a small, dynamic organization requires an interest in a diverse set of activities, from advanced to mundane. We believe you are a structured, self-starting “doer” with the ability to think analytical and critical.
