A temporary position until April 2010 as Entry Clearance Assistant has occurred within the Visa Section of the British Embassy.

The Visa Section of the Embassy is the main interface with visa applicants, dealing with the public on a daily basis and making decisions on applications for visas to the U.K.

We are looking for someone to work in our small, hardworking Visa Section. The job will entail dealing directly with visa applicants and general administrative tasks. The successful applicant will have a strong work ethic, excellent inter personal skills, keen eye for detail and previous experience of working with the public and to tight deadlines. The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a good demeanour both with colleagues and customers is essential.

Previous experience of life in the U.K. would be advantageous. Experience of dealing with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures and an understanding of diversity and multiculturalism would be an asset. Skills and Experience:

Essential

. Excellent communication skills which will include good written and spoken English and Swedish and an open and friendly manner;
. Excellent organisational skills, an ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines;
. A "customer focused", service delivery approach to work;
. Good IT skills
