Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Equine Clinic University Animal Hospital Equine Surgeon SLU develops knowledge about natural resources as well as social systems - everything that lives and grows.At SLU we conduct research, teach and inform about the opportunities, and possible risks incurred, when using our forests, landscapes, soils and animals in different ways.SLU offers a broad spectrum of educational programmes and single subject courses.About 3 300 undergraduates and 800 postgraduate students are enrolled at SLU.A total of 3 200 people are employed at the University.Main campuses are located at Alnarp, Skara, Ultuna and Umeå.Research and teaching activities are carried out throughout the country. www.slu.se The Equine Clinic within the Veterinary School Hospital at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences is a rapidly expanding equine facility.The projected volume of the clinic in 2008 is 5000 hospital visits and 2000 ambulatory patients.The Veterinary School Hospital is to relocate to ultra-modern facilities and accommodate for 6000 equine patients at the hospital within the coming four years.The Equine Clinic is dedicated to excellence and to be one of the foremost equine facilities in Europe.We are looking for an equine surgeon who is as dedicated to excellence and to develop the Equine Clinic as an international leader of health care and development.The Equine Surgeon position will be available from 1 January 2009.This is a senior clinical appointment, and you will have primary responsibility for the equine surgical caseload within the Veterinary School Hospital.You will also be responsible for leading a residency program and supervisor for other surgical programs (RCVS).You will provide clinical instruction, participate in the service work of the Hospital and conduct and facilitate research activities of the Veterinary Faculty.You should have a veterinary degree; and have completed a suitable surgical training or residency programme and hold a Diploma from ECVS or ACVS.You will have substantial practical experience in either equine soft tissue or equine orthopaedic surgery.
