Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences University Animal Hospital, Equine Clinic Equine Surgeon (Diplomate ECVS) SLU develops the understanding and sustainable use of biological natural resources.This is achieved through research, teaching, environmental monitoring and assessment and information extension.SLU has 3000 employees, 4200 undergraduate and postgraduate students.Main campuses are located at Alnarp, Skara, Uppsala and Umeå.www.slu.se The Equine Clinic within the University Animal Hospital at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala is searching for an Equine Surgeon (Diplomate ECVS).The Clinic is a rapidly expanding equine facility.The volume of the clinic in 2009 was 5700 hospital visits and 500 ambulatory patients.440 patients underwent surgical procedures.The Veterinary School Hospital is to relocate to newly built state-of-the-art facilities within the coming three years.The Equine Clinic is dedicated to excellence and to be one of the foremost equine facilities in Europe.This is a clinical appointment and you will have primary responsibility for the equine surgical caseload within the Veterinary School Hospital.You hold an active ECVS or ACVS Diploma and ideally have a substantial practical experience.You are dedicated to excellence and have an interest in assuming a leadership role within the surgery group.You will also be responsible for leading an ECVS residency program and be supervisor for other surgical training programs (RCVS).You will participate in the service work of the hospital, provide clinical instruction and conduct and facilitate research activities.Research experience would be a valuable asset.The position will be available from January 2011 or upon mutual agreement.Your application should include a CV and a letter stating your professional goals .
