What’s in it for you?
Manufacturing Engineering is a unit within Volvo Cars that has full strategic and operational responsibility for the production and supply of Volvo Cars globally. We develop methods and techniques for equipment in the production, lead and execute projects for the production units to meet quality, lead time, cost efficiency, safety/health/environment, flexibility, change over. The areas of activity are Volvo Cars plants.

Our new challenge is the development and implementation of processes for Battery Electrical Vehicles. The speed of development within this area, for the product and the process is very high and we need more talent to join our teams in their cross functional work.
We are now looking for two Engineers: one Equipment Engineer to our Tooling & Equipment Team and one Manufacturing Engineer to the Manufacturing Engineering commodity team!

Our department Central Tooling & Equipment Final Assembly is responsible for concept development and global common tooling for car programs and model year change. Our main costumer is Manufacturing Engineering and our deliveries are investigations/pre-studies and concept development for all type of equipment’s and designs of global, common tools/fixtures. 

As a Commodity Manufacturing Engineer you will deliver a lean, quality assured and flexible process based on line fundamentals. You will be doing this by driving the manufacturing requirements in strong collaboration with R&D to reach excellent manufacturability to a competitive cost.

In both jobs you will work in a global environment representing the manufacturing voice through cross functional collaborations with aligned prioritizations.

What you’ll do
As Equipment Engineer your main task will be to lead and executes equipment projects (developing, calculating, planning) for our plants. You will perform safety-, reliability- and cost analyses as well as Equipment FMEA. You will also get to develop equipment strategies, often in a global competence network.

You will also:
* Initiate and lead AE (Advanced Engineering) and OD (Operational Development) assignments within the area of responsibility. 
* Contribute in annual work and pre-PS phases with specialist competence, works for Process Driven Product Design. 
* Support the running production (Industrial Engineering, Production and Maintenance) with second line analysis within the area of responsibility. 


As a Commodity Manufacturing Engineer your main task will be to secure manufacturability on our products to a competitive cost and deliver a flawless launch.
You will do this by working in a cross functional network together with R&D, Tooling & Equipment engineers, and our plants.

You will also:
* Verify the product and process solutions both virtual and physical.
* Drive our manufacturing requirements on the product.
* Create all the needed assembly instructions.
Perform Process FMEA to identify and secure all process risks.

Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for someone with a BCs or MSc within Automation, Mechatronics or similar area, or who has basic technical competence through years of practice. You have experience from working with automation and equipment procurement, and it is meritorious if you have worked within manufacturing for a supplier to Volvo Cars.

As a person we think that you have a strong collaboration behavior and that driving results in a natural thing for you.
To be a fit for this position, we believe that you have at least around 3-4 years of work experience.
