Manufacturing Engineering's mission: “Our people develop global, lean production processes to create the best manufacturing environments." Our main customers are manufacturing plants, to whom we supply installations of equipment, industrial strategy plans, methods and know-how. As equipment engineer at our department you daily work to create world class, global, lean, highly efficient, and flexible industrial systems within the area of equipment automation.
What you’ll do
As Equipment Engineer in Final assembly you will use your knowledge in the field of equipment and mechanics. In the role you will participate in different projects and initiatives, sometimes acting as project leader and sometimes as expert within the mechanical/technical field.
The challenge for this role is for the next coming years to develop our new production lines and modify our existing lines for our next generation of cars. You work in a global network with all Final assembly plants worldwide, to equate processes and ways of working. We developed equipment that is flexible, low in energy consumption, have high technical availability and maintainability.
Do you fit the profile?
We think you have Technical competence on Bachelor / Master of sciences level or similar knowledge within the equipment area. Additional experiences/competence you have is; automation competence, experience in 3D systems like Catia or Teamcenter, commissioning experience and experience within the equipment field and manual handling equipment in particular.
Suitable for the role is knowledge within Volvo Cars administrative systems, procurement routines, standards and specifications regarding equipment. This role will absolutely suit you if you have excellent interpersonal skills including fluent English in speaking, writing and reading as that will be your daily working language.
